About Us

Ever since I can remember, I have always loved creating things. I would rearrange my room over and over again until I found the right look. When attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York , an instructor gave me a great compliment regarding my art, and how natural I seemed at it.  Over the years, have drawn caricatures of friends and co-workers, and taught teenagers arts and crafts.

My husband and I have struggled for a long time, and I wanted to do something to help him.  One day I was watching Oprah Winfrey, which was about stay at home moms who started their own businesses.  It inspired me, and I decided I wanted to do something with my life.  A dress that I wanted to keep as a reminder of my daughter became my first creation.

From that point, Janet’s Creative Pillows was born. I have sold my pillows in England , Australia , and all over the United States .  My goal is to provide for my family and to share the talent that God has given me with people all over the world.   I truly believe that if you want something in life, you must never give up, because with Faith all things are possible!

I inherited my talents from both of my  parents. My father played guitar and sang and drew caricatures.  My mother, who is very creative could make and sew just about anything. I have shown my artwork in public, and have taught teenagers the gift of creation through arts and crafts.  At Most Precious Blood in NYC, a school where my husband and I taught religious instruction, I showed the kids about creating arts and crafts and designed a mural that all the kids participated in.

In 1990, for my wedding to Steve, an aspiring novelist, my mother and I designed all of the wedding bouquets, pillows and even the decorations.  I am a stay at home mom for both of my children, Laura and Michael.  I feel blessed to have started my own company,  Janet’s Creative Pillows in 2002.

I feel that if by some small measure I have given something that has brought joy into someone’s life through my work , then that is the best reward I can receive.
