JANET"S CREATIVE PILLOWS GETS 1ST PLACE PRIZE AT SOUTH FLORIDA FAIR
!!!
Over the weekend we attended the South Florida Fair Expo. I look forward to
going there every year. So much to do and so much to see. Oh and lots of good
food too..lol .
I entered the Craft and Skills Competition at the last minute. I
figured that it would be fun to be apart of so many creative people. When I got
there on Saturday I was very surprised. I found a First Prize Blue Ribbon on my
Queen Victoria Dress Pillow. What an honor. I am so grateful and want to thank
Lorie Stinson who is in charge of the exhibit. Here are a few pics:

I would like to recommend to everyone a great book called
Virtual Entrepreneurship Creating and
Operating a Home Based Business by
Lauri J. Smedley. Lauri is a Professor in Business
Division in Sacramento City College in California. She contacted me about a year
ago. She wanted to know if she could include my business in her book. I was
happy to say yes and now a year later she has accomplished what many dream of.
She has published her first book. I have enjoyed corresponding with her during
the past year and I am very happy for her. And I am so honored to be in her
book. If you know anyone who wants to start a business please buy her book. Her
book is a labor of love filled with wonderful information.

The book is also for sale on
Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0615411789).

We were
contacted by Robyn Melvin at
The Hard Rock Cafe Seminole Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The
occasion was a party and they had requested some of our Ruby Red Lip
Pillows. Imagine our surprise when we found out who it was for.......
...we were extremely pleased
when we found out the guest of honor was Fergie, from the Black Eyed
Peas, the Duchess herself. Fergie was giving a concert at the Hard Rock
Cafe, and also as shown here autographing a guitar as part of the
Ambassadors Of Rock and presenting a check benefiting the Joe DiMaggio's
Children's Hospital.
Here is the Hard Rock Cafe.
Thanks for helping make Janet's Creative Pillows a part of a worthy cause
and also the opportunity to be involved with Fergie!

This is a picture of
a very nice
gentleman by the
name of Dennis
Luciani.
http://www.dennisluciani.net/moviestv.html
Dennis is a very
talented actor. He
has been in National
Lampoon's "Totally
Baked" movie as
(Average Joe) giving
equally rich
full-bodied and
downright hilarious
performances. He has
done many
commercials among
other appearances on
tv. He emailed me
and asked if I could
create a giant
carrot pillow..lol.
I said sure! He
would be dressed as
a bunny for the
Let's Make A Deal
Show. How exciting!
The thought of one
of my creations on a
tv show. I was
happy to have
created this giant
carrot especially
for him. And he was
so kind to send me a
picture of himself
all dressed up with
the carrot. Dennis
presently works for
National Lampoon
Inc. and I want to
say that I am a big
fan of National
Lampoon. Thank you
Dennis!

Gary
Cohen is the Producer of Plays in The Park, in Roosevelt Park
in Edison, New Jersey.
We were
happy to be a part of their latest production that opened on June
24, 2008 and ran until July 5, which was Mel Brooks " The Producers"
. Our lip pillow was featured prominently on the couch for a few
scenes as you can see in the picture to the left ( click the picture
to enlarge). We were happy to oblige and also got great reviews from
Gary ! Also click the link below to see a slideshow of the
production.

Janet's
Creative Pillows was honored to have been a part of a Romantic Homes /
Cottages & Bungalows / Victorian Homes event called Vintage Vavoom Launch
Party which took place on January 19, 2008. Many of my Make Mine Pink
sisters including myself donated items for this fun day.
Several
of our products were auctioned off for charity to help the Tustin
Preservation Conservancy in California which helps preserve and restore
historic homes.
We
were also pleased to be added to a blog for Romantic Homes editor
Merrie Destefano
and featured as a donor in the brochure that was
presented at the McCharles House.

A special thanks to Cindy Houot of Angel Heart Designs who asked us
to create a Dice pillow for a special friend of hers. Imagine our surprise
when we went to her friend's website named Gallery Lou Lou... in New Mexico.
The pillow you see below was displayed on their sofa . Imagine our
surprise to find out the pillow was for a rock and roll exhibition that took
place on April 25, 2007.
The
exhibition was really exciting to hear about and several musicians, rockers,
and celebrities showed up. We were very happy to be a part of it !

Saturday -
May 6, 2006 - Tribeca Film Festival - NYC
We performed
with your pillows on Saturday at the Tribeca Film Festival Family
Day event. Attached are a couple photos. The pillows worked out
really great. This week we perform for 1,000 NYC school children.
I'm sure they will love the veggies as much as we do!
Thanks again,
Amanda
